Dom Reyes Finishes Chris Weidman, Calls Out Jon Jones At UFC Boston; Other Top 15 Fights
UFC Boston took place on a rare Friday, and UFC brought a share of top 15 fighters to the show.
Former Middleweight World Champion, and #8 ranked 185-pounder Chris Weidman finally moved up in weight to take on #4 light heavyweight Dom Reyes. The move happened too little, too late for Weidman, as Reyes landed a step-back left straight to drop Weidman, followed by a series of ground and pound. After the fight Domick Reyes, now 6-0 in the UFC, called out Jon Jones for a title fight. Weidman stated he’d continue fighting.

#7 Yair Rodriguez and #8 Jeremy Stephens were technically pitted in a rematch, after their disappointing and immediate eye poke finish last month in Mexico City. Rodriguez looked to tear Stephens to shreds early, but had to settle for a unanimous decision win after “Lil’ Heathen” weathered the storm. Stephens ended up taking a round, but wasn’t enough to get the win.

#12 Maycee Barber looked to continue her hype train against #15 Gillian Robertson, and did so with a filthy first round TKO win. Barber moves to 3-0 in the UFC in just under a year, and also has a Contender Series win to her credit.
The Future is bright for @MayceeBarber!!
