Jim Ross Criticizes Fans’ Impatience
Jim Ross says WWE fans need to be more patient about the Cruiserweights.
The Cruiserweight division was reintroduced to WWE with the Cruiserweight Classic on WWE Network. In his Monday Blog, Ross expressed how he felt about Cruiserweights. The division has been around since June and the first champion was crowed in August. Ross is more concerned with the fans than the division.
"Still continue to read where some pundits and fans are growing impatient regarding how fast WWE is establishing their new, Cruiserweight division. I need to see more of the talents outside the ring and to get to know those that actually possess a personality suitable for prime time TV. I am all for his grouping of athletes but many folks need to simply develop that rare trait known as patience when dissecting this matter," wrote Ross.
Ross says be patient but also set a date for when to start examining the success of the Cruiserweights.
"Much like the brand split, I think that it will be April 2 in Orlando at Wrestlemania before we can truly and intelligently evaluate the success, or not, of that venture. When we see what each brand donates to the WM33 card, we will be better suited to declare our thoughts on the brand separation….at least that's my two cents," wrote Ross.
Since the reintroduction of the division, there have been two Cruiserweight champions. The current champion Brian Kendrick will be defending the belt against Smackdown's Kalisto. If Kalisto wins, the title and the division go to Smackdown Live.
Ross' blogs are available on his website along with his podcast The Ross Report.
