10/16/2019 AEW Dynamite Results: 2 Title Matches & The Tag Team Title Tournament Continues

– The Lucha Brothers jump SCU during their entrance and they lay waste to them, Rey Fenix sends Frankie Kazarian into the ring post. Pentagon Jr. then hits Christopher Daniels with a package pile driver on the entrance ramp, Scorpio Sky comes out to chase The Lucha Bros away as the medical staff and members of the locker room come to check on SCU. Sky and an injured Kazarian will now represent SCU in the tag tournament match.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal
SCU (Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian) vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Berretta)
The match begins with Kazarian attacking Taylor with a plethora of strikes, Taylor immediately attacks the injured back of Kazarian. Berretta tags in and he nails Kazarian with an assisted cutter for a near fall, Taylor nails Kazarian before Berretta lands a knee strike for a near fall. Sky hits the ring and he gets taken out by the Best Friends, Taylor bites the foot of Sky as Berretta attacks Kazarian on the arena floor. The Best Friends then work over Kazarian’s back by smashing him into the barricade and ringside edge, Taylor nails Kazarian with a double stomp and then Berretta hits Kazarian with a spear. Berretta gets Kazarian back in the ring before nailing him with a few strikes, Berretta gets Kazarian to the top rope while looking for a superplex. Kazarian fights back before Taylor gets in the ring to help Berretta land an assisted superplex for a near fall, Berretta corners Kazarian again before landing more strikes. Kazarian fights back and he tags Sky into the match, Sky quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team.
Sky uses a clothesline to knock Berretta out of the ring, Sky goes for a dive and Taylor attacks him to prevent it. Taylor goes for a suicide dive and he accidentally takes Berretta out, Kazarian returns to nail Taylor with a rana to the arena floor. Sky returns and he takes out the Best Friends with a suicide dive, Sky and Kazarian get Berretta back in the ring so Kazarian can land an assisted tornado DDT for a near fall. Sky hits Berretta with a flying back elbow strike before tagging Kazarian in, Kazarian nails Berretta with a springboard leg drop for a near fall. Taylor makes a blind tag and he nails Kazarian with sole food before Berretta lands a release German suplex, Sky attacks the Best Friends before eating a series of knee strikes. The Best Friends then hit Kazarian with a doomsday knee strike for a near fall, Berretta tags in and he tries to pile driver Kazarian on the ring apron until Sky blocks it. Sky then throws an attacking Taylor into the barricade, Kazarian then hits Berretta with a back body drop on the ring apron. Sky tags in and SCU nails Berretta with a power bomb/lung blower combo for a three count.
Winners: SCU (Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian)
– Santana & Ortiz are shown walking around backstage.
The Inner Circle (Santana & Ortiz) vs. Alex Reynolds & John Silver
The match begins with Sanatana knocking Reynolds off the ring apron with a pump kick, Santana then nails Silver with an enzaguri. Santana corners Silver before landing a back elbow strike, Ortiz tags in to hit Silver with a sit out power bomb and then Santana lands a knee strike. Santana then takes out Reynolds with a suicide dive, Ortiz corners Silver before attacking him with a face wash. Ortiz keeps Silver down while raking his back, Santana and Ortiz hit Silver with a Street Sweeper for a three count.
Winners: The Inner Circle (Santana & Ortiz)
– Chris Jericho appears on the big screen after the match to praise the efforts of Santana and Ortiz, Jericho says that Santana and Ortiz challenge The Young Bucks for AEW Full Gear.
– A video airs showing Cody and Brandi Rhodes at their home, Brandi is talking to Cody and Cody is hardly paying attention. Cody leaves the house while Brandi talks about his passion for wrestling and the upcoming AEW World Championship Match against Chris Jericho at AEW Full gear, Diamond Dallas Page and Michelle Rhodes talk about Cody’s drive. MJF talks about how Cody wants to show that leaving the WWE wasn’t a mistake, Jim Ross talks about what Cody and Jericho will go through on the day of AEW Full Gear. Michelle talks about Cody being in the shadow of Dusty Rhodes, Tony Schiavone praises Cody for what he has done in the business. DDP says that until Cody wins that first world championship, it will always feel like something is missing. Highlights are also shown of Cody training for the upcoming title match, MJF says a legend will be born on November 9. Brandi says Cody won’t rest until he beats Jericho.
AEW Women’s World Championship
Riho (c) vs. Dr. Britt Baker
The match begins with Baker backing Riho into the ropes before letting her go free, Baker then takes Riho down with a few arm drags. Riho tries fighting back and Baker gets a pin attempt on her, Baker gets Riho down again and Riho gets to the ropes to avoid the Lockjaw. Riho gets to the ring apron and she exchanges strikes with Baker, the duo battle to the top rope and Riho knocks Baker off the ropes. Riho leaps off the ropes to hit Baker with a high cross body, Riho then nails Baker with a basement drop kick. Baker fights back and Riho trips her up before landing a double stomp, Riho then hits a cornered Baker with a running knee strike. Riho then hits Baker with a suplex before going to the top rope, Riho misses a double stomp and Baker nails her with a sling blade. Riho escapes the grasp of Baker and Baker still hits her with a TKO a short time later, Baker then hits Riho with a boot to the face for a near fall. Baker misses a super kick and Riho rolls her up a few times for a few near falls, Baker recovers and nails Riho with a spinning neck breaker followed by a super kick for a near fall. Riho fights back and she attacks Baker with chops, Riho then hits Baker with a northern lights suplex for a near fall.
Riho keeps Baker down before applying a single leg crab, Baker eventually gets to the ropes and Riho immediately lands a top rope double stomp for a near fall. Riho then hits Baker with a running double knee strike for another near fall, Riho misses a double running knee strike and Baker nails her with a rip cord elbow strike. Baker nails Riho with a swinging neck breaker before applying Lockjaw, Riho counters with a roll up for a three count.
Winner: Riho, still the AEW Women’s World Champion
– Excalibur reports that Christopher Daniels suffered a stinger during the attack earlier tonight by the Lucha Brothers.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal
The Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt) vs. The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon & Rey Fenix)
The match begins with Pentagon bullying Stunt and Stunt responds with a dance, Stunt then bites the hand of Pentagon. Boy hits the ring to help Stunt nail Pentagon with a rana, Fenix then hits Boy with a super kick from out of nowhere. Stunt and Boy then hit both of their opponents with tornado DDTs, Stunt and Boy then take out their opponents with suicide dives. Boy and Stunt get Pentagon in the ring so Boy can slam Stunt on him for a near fall, Boy tags in and Stunt nails Pentagon with a 215. Boy then nails Pentagon with a German suplex for a near fall, Stunt tags in and Pentagon levels him with a super kick. Boy interferes and he eats a super kick as well, Fenix tags in and Boy nails him with a pump kick. Fenix recovers to nail Stunt with an enzaguri while taking Boy out of the ring with an arm drag, Fenix follows that up with a dive onto Boy as Pentagon tags in. Pentagon nails Stunt with a pump handle driver for a near fall, Fenix grabs Boy and throws him into the ring steps. Pentagon then drops Stunt with a series of leg kicks, Pentagon traps Stunt near the ropes while attacking him with chops.
Fenix hits the ring and he double teams Stunt alongside Pentagon, Fenix then takes out Boy on the arena floor. Pentagon then throws Stunt in the air so Fenix can nail him with a super kick, Pentagon goes back to attacking Stunt with leg kicks. Stunt fights back and he trips up Pentagon before landing a leg lariat, Boy and Fenix are tagged in by their respective partners. Boy quickly cleans house against the opposing team, Boy hits Fenix with a reverse power slam while Stunt takes out Pentagon with a suicide dive, Stunt then hits Fenix with a 450 splash before Boy lands a running shooting star press for a near fall. Stunt tags in as Pentagon takes out Boy with a destroyer, Pentagon tags in and he tosses Stunt around by his hair. Pentagon then snaps the arm of Stunt before landing a package pile driver for a three count.
Winners: The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon & Rey Fenix)
Pac & Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega & Hangman Page
The match begins with Omega battling Moxley in the ring while Page and Pac battle on the arena floor, Moxley and Omega exchange strikes in the corner. Moxley ends the exchange by nailing Moxley with a clothesline, Moxley mounts Omega and attacks him with strikes. Pac tags in and he nails an interfering Page with an enzaguri, Omega then nails Pac with a Kitauro Crusher. Moxley distracts Omega and Pac attacks Omega, Moxley tags himself in and he works over a cornered Omega. Moxley follows that up by nailing Omega with a corner clothesline, Moxley keeps Omega down while stomping away on him. Omega fights back and Moxley drops him with a knee strike, Omega fights back again and he nails Moxley with a suplex. Page tags in and he cleans house against the opposing team, Page takes out Pac with a dive before nailing Moxley with a top rope clothesline for a near fall. Page looks for Dead Eye and Moxley gets his way to the ring apron before getting knocks to the arena floor, Page goes to the top rope and Pac distracts him.
Moxley knocks a distracted Page off the top rope and he crashes into the ringside edge, Pac then hits Page with a suicide dive. Omega goes to check on Page and Moxley attacks him, Moxley gets Page in the ring while Pac attacks Omega. Moxley then drops Page with a hard Irish whip into the corner, Pac tags in and he nails a downed Page with a drop kick to the back of the head. Moxley interferes and he works with Pac to hit Page with a double suplex, Pac follows that up by nailing Page with a suplex. Moxley tags in and he drops Page before landing a sliding clothesline for a near fall, Moxley then gets Page in a cloverleaf until Omega breaks it up. Pac hits the ring and he knocks Omega out of the ring, Page fights back and he drops Moxley with a series of clotheslines. Omega tags in and he cleans house against the opposing team, Omega then nails Pac with a You Cannot Escape after Pac tags in. Moxley interferes and Omega nails both opponents with snap dragon suplexes, Omega knocks Pac out of the ring before nailing him with a suicide dive.
Moxley returns and he nails Omega with a suicide dive, Page returns and he takes everybody out with a top rope moonsault. Page tags in and he double teams Pac with Omega, Omega then hits Pac with a buckle bomb and sit out power bomb. Page then nails Pac with a running shooting star press for a near fall, Moxley returns to hit Page with a bossman slam before eating a knee strike from Omega. Pac then nails a charging Omega with a slingshot cutter, Page knocks Pac out of the ring before landing a suicide dive. Moxley and Omega have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Omega nails Moxley with a V Trigger before eating a lariat. Omega and Moxley leave the ring and they return with barbed wire weapons, Pac returns and he throws the weapons out of the ring before arguing with Moxley. Moxley nails Pac with a Paradigm Shift before heading backstage, Page then hits Pac with a Buckshot Lariat. Omega follows up by landing a V Trigger and Page lands a Dead Eye for a three count.

AEW World Heavyweight Championship
Philadelphia Street Fight
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Darby Allin
The match begins with Allin nailing Jericho with a drop kick followed by a bunch of strikes, Allin uses a clothesline to knock Jericho out of the ring. Allin follows that up by nailing Jericho with a suicide dive, Allin mounts Jericho while landing more strikes. Allin gets Jericho in the ring and Jericho kicks him when he gets back in the ring, Jericho follows up by nailing Allin with a back suplex. Jericho traps Allin in the corner while landing some strikes, Jericho then drops Allin with a corner clothesline to the back of the head. Allin recovers and he nails Jericho with a yoshi tonic before eating a clothesline, Allin fights back and Jericho nails him with more strikes. Jericho bounces Allin off the ring post while throwing him out of the ring as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Jericho attacking Allin with a kendo stick. Jericho leaps off the top rope and Allin nails him with a right, Allin corners Jericho afterwards to land a few strikes.
Allin catches Jericho in a crucifix and Jericho kicks out at two, Allin grabs the kendo stick and he attacks Jericho with it. Allin nails Jericho with a springboard splash for a near fall, Allin looks for an arm bar and Jericho gets free to briefly get Jericho in the Walls Of Jericho. Jericho argues with the ref after a rope break and Allin nails him with a kendo stick, Allin then hits Jericho with a top rope high cross body for a near fall. Jericho recovers and he nails Allin with a code breaker for a near fall, Jericho exits the ring and he returns with a steel chair. Jericho attacks Allin with the steel chair before setting it up in the corner, Jericho goes for a lawn dart and Allin counters with a stunner for a near fall. Jericho recovers and he gets Allin in the Lion Tamer, Allin eventually gets to the ropes to break the hold. Jericho leaves the ring and he brings a roll of duct tape back into it, Jericho tapes the hands of Allin behind his back. Jericho attacks Allin with strikes before tossing him across the ring a few times, Jericho misses a charge in the corner and Allin lands a no hands moonsault for a near fall.
Allin then knocks Jericho out of the ring before taking him out with a suicide dive, Allin waits for Jericho to get back in the ring to land a top rope dive for a near fall. Jericho gets up and he levels Allin with a clothesline, Jericho grabs a skateboard and he power bombs Allin through it for a near fall. Jericho grabs a chair and Allin drop kicks it into his face, Allin goes for a no arm Coffin Drop and Jake Hager knocks him off the ropes. Jericho gets Allin in the Walls Of Jericho and Allin gives up.
Winner: Chris Jericho, still the AEW World Heavyweight Champion
After the match, The Inner Circle comes to the ring to celebrate with Chris Jericho.
