Conor McGregor Back In Court On November 1 To Answer For Assault Charge

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor has been charged with one count of assault after attacking an elderly bar patron in Dublin, Ireland.

McGregor appeared at court today and at the request of his legal team and with the approval of the judge, had the proceedings adjourned until Friday, November 1. The UFC star, if found guilty on the assault charge, could face a “maximum prison term of six months or a €1,500 fine or both.”

There is no word at this time as to why McGregor and his legal team had the case adjourned until November 1, but the UFC star is expected to either enter a plea or contest the charge when they appear on that date.

The former two division UFC champion, during an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, said the following about the incident (transcript provided by MMA Fighting):

“In reality it doesn’t matter what happened here. I was in the wrong. That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did. Five months ago it was, and I tried to make amends and I made amends back then. But that does not even matter. I was in the wrong.”
