Report: Injuries Cause Changes To Two UFC Cards, Tavares vs. Shahbazyan Added To UFC 244

A pair of injuries have affected a pair of upcoming UFC events according to MMA Junkie as Brad Tavares has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Singapore after an injury to Ian Heinisch and will now meet Edmen Shahbazyan at UFC 244, as Shahbazyan was supposed to face the now injured Krzysztof Jotko at the event

Tavares (17-5-0) is going to be competing for the first time in over a year, with that last bout being a loss to UFC Interim Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale. Tavares has suffered a total of five losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came in UFC competition. Tavares has picked up seventeen wins as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of them came by way of decision.

Shahbazyan (10-0-0) has already picked up three wins under the UFC banner, having defeated the trio of Darren Stewart, Charles Byrd and Jack Marshman. Shahbazyan also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 13, defeating Antonio Jones by first round TKO. Shahbazyan has competed a total of ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went past the opening round.

UFC 244 takes place on Saturday, November 2 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
