Enzo Amore Says Fans Won’t Be Hearing From Big Cass For A While, States Cass Just Wants To Be Happy
Enzo opens up about Big Cass.
On Sept. 14, Big Cass was involved in an altercation at a WrestlePro event that ended with him being punched out by Pat Buck. Following the incident, Big Cass released a statement, revealing his anxiety and depression got the better of him and he would be stepping away from the spotlight.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Enzo Amore gave an update on his best friend.
“We’re not gonna hear from Big Cass for quite some time. I don’t know when, or if, he’ll ever be ready to come back out to the spotlight. But I know that there was an incident that occurred most recently and it was because he didn’t reach out for help,” said Enzo. “I wouldn’t let a day or two go by without talking to him. And if I didn’t speak to him for one or two days, I would hop on a flight, and I would go meet him wherever he was and drag him out of whatever mental and physical hell he was putting himself through because depression is a serious battle. People who are fighting it are just like me and you, and some of them are hiding it. While you can act like everything is alright, I just need people to know that guys like Tyson Fury can battle this thing and come out on top. Big Cass is in the same situation. He’s a big guy, a tough guy, and he’s vulnerable right now. He wants the world to know that, ‘If I can struggle with this thing, it’s okay that you can to.’ The number one thing you can do if you’re battling depression or anxiety is to be there for one another and not bring people down with hatred.”
Enzo continued, “He looked me in the eyes after the [WrestlePro] incident occurred and all he says to me is, ‘I just want to be happy.’ He doesn’t care about anything else. He just wants to be happy.”
It is unknown if or when Cass will return to wrestling.
