Steve Austin Says He Is Available To Help WWE As Much As He Can If It Makes Sense

Steve Austin talks helping WWE.

WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin has been on Raw a handful of times in the last couple of months. Austin appeared at Raw Reunion on July 22, closing out the show with a toast to the WWE family. A few weeks later, on Aug. 12, he showed up via Skype to give his thoughts on the SummerSlam main event between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar. And this past Monday, Sept. 9, Austin returned to Madison Square Garden to deliver a Stunner to AJ Styles and partake in a beer bash with Cedric Alexander, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, and the Viking Raiders.

“Not everything is last minute. Some things are thought out way in advance. They call me up, and if I’m available and it sounds like a good idea, I’ll do it,” Austin told TV Insider. “I’ve been away for a long time. I always like to say I want the current superstars to have all the television time, but if I can go out there and give someone a rub. Or if I can get out there in front of a crowd that is still around when I was still active who want to see me again, that’s a cool feeling too.

“It’s just something that is happening. It’s not like I’m going to go back on the road full-time or anything. It’s some good opportunities. It makes sense TV-wise, business-wise. I’m there to lend a hand or help out as much as I can.”

Austin remains tied to WWE Raw, not only through his appearances but with his show “Straight Up Steve Austin,” which airs immediately after Raw on USA every Monday. On a recent episode, Austin got a taste of his own medicine, getting dropped with a Stunner courtesy of Becky Lynch.
