Billy Corgan: NWA Wants To Bring Back Chaos And Anarchy To Wrestling
Billy Corgan talks NWA on TV.
The National Wrestling Alliance heads to the studio on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 when they tape their first two shows for their upcoming television debut. The shows will be taped at GPB Studios in Atlanta.
NWA President and Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan spoke with the Atlanta Journal Constitution about what fans should expect when NWA makes its way to TV.
“We want something that feels a little more rough around the edges, kind of like how I like my rock and roll,” Corgan said. “… We want to bring back the chaos and anarchy into the wrestling product. If you look at Atlanta’s location, Atlanta’s history and then the (state entertainment) tax credit on top of that, it makes Atlanta an extremely attractive place to do business,”
It is unknown when or where the NWA studio show will air on television. Scheduled to appear at the Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 tapings include NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis, Eli Drake, NWA National Champion James Storm, Colt Cabana, NWA Women’s Champion Allysin Kay and more.
