Report: Vince McMahon Is A ‘Sparklecrotch’ Fan
Apparently, Vince McMahon loves the new "sparklecrotch" nickname that Seth Rollins bestowed on Chris Jericho a few weeks ago.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that McMahon laughed maniacally each time Rollins used the term… hence Rollins repeating it frequently during that initial exchange. Jericho's sparkly ring attire was the basis for the term.
The term made its debut during the October 17 episode of Raw, and #sparklecrotch quickly became a trending hashtag on Twitter that night.
Despite McMahon's apparent delight over the term, usage of "sparklecrotch" has been quite limited in the past few weeks on WWE television. Somewhat surprising, considering that the WWE Chairman remains in full control of Raw, as well as Smackdown. The Observer also reported that McMahon remains 100 percent in control of both of the main WWE brands and is 100 percent hands-on, even though there are some noticeable creative and production differences between the two shows. Previously, there had been speculation that Ryan Ward and Triple H might be overseeing Smackdown independently of the WWE Chairman.
It would not be the first bizarre piece of material Jericho was able to use and get over with the crowd. His "List of Jericho" has been an ongoing gag on Raw, to the point that it was one of the focal points of the entire episode of the program on October 24, which also was the go-home edition of Raw prior to the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.
Given McMahon is a fan of the term, might we see "sparklecrotch" become the newest go-to catchphrase in WWE? "Sparklecrotch 3:16"? Sparklecrotch T-shirts?
Stay tuned…
