Elias, Chad Gable Advance To WWE King Of The Ring Semifinals
The semifinal field is set for the King of the Ring tournament.
On the September 3 episode of SmackDown Live, both Elias and Chad Gable won their respective quarterfinal matches to advance to the next round. Eilas defeated Ali while Gable beat Andrade in tournament matches.

With Elias and Gable winning their matches, the five-man semifinal field is set. The September 8 episode of Raw saw not only Baron Corbin move on to the semifinals but also Samoa Joe and Ricochet after their quarterfinal match ended in a double pinfall. After no winner was initially determined in the Joe vs. Ricochet match, it was later revealed that both of them advanced, meaning that Corbin, Joe and Ricochet will have a triple threat match on the September 9 episode of Raw.
