Scott Coker Says It Will Take Time To Negotiate With Cyborg

Former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg was booted from the UFC after the promotion got out of the “Cyborg business.”

Bellator MMA President Scott Coker says the promotion is negotiating with Cyborg, but says these things will take time.

“You know how these things go, it takes time,” Coker told MMA Junkie. “She’s the greatest female fighter of all time.”

Julia Budd is the current Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Champion and she has expressed an interest in fight the former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion. Budd and Cyborg both competed together in the now defunct Strikeforce promotion, but they never had the opportunity to face each other.

The relationship between Cyborg and the UFC never seemed like it got on the right foot, but Coker says UFC President Dana White tried hurting the career of Cyborg with how things ended in their time together.

“(White) tried to hurt her career by saying all those things,” he said. “The people that are making decisions on this side know what the truth is.”

Cyborg and Coker have previously worked together in Strikeforce, where Cyborg held the promotion’s women’s featherweight title.
