Booker T On “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt: He’s Mastered The Art Of Working

Booker T had some positive thoughts regarding Bray Wyatt coming out of SummerSlam.

On “The Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore” podcast, the former WCW Heavyweight champion gave some feedback on Wyatt and his new character “The Fiend” which made his in-ring debut against Finn Balor at SummerSlam. Wyatt’s new look, entrance and theme song among other things were the talk of the show and Booker T said SummerSlam proved that Wyatt not just improved, but mastered the art of working while adding that “The Fiend” isn’t so much a repackaging of Wyatt but another tool in his arsenal.

“I don’t think it’s really repackaging Bray, I really don’t. Bray’s one of those guys that knows how much to give you. He’s not going to give you his full work, his full body of work. Some guys in about 10 minutes give you their full repertoire, their full arsenal, just about everything from top to bottom. With Bray Wyatt, you maybe see one-tenth of his full, maximum capabilities and that’s the art of a true worker… I think Bray has mastered what you need at this point and time. Bray Wyatt has definitely mastered the art of working in levels,” Booker T said.

Booker T added that Wyatt doesn’t need to give fans everything he has up in his sleeve in one go and likened it to his own work, saying that he would bring out something new every few months to keep fans on their toes. Regarding what’s next for Wyatt, Booker T said he’s exciting to see what’s next in store.

“The fans want to be totally drawn in. The fans want to be able to feel that moment and say, ‘Wow.’ Remember when Wyatt came back and they did that 3-D thing? That was the talk of the town for a long time, everybody was like, ‘Wow,’ and that is what evolving is. When you have the machine behind you, and able to create those special effects, and then you have the capabilities of a Bray Wyatt as far as how his mind can go. I mean the range is vast and that’s dangerous, man. I am looking forward to seeing how far we can really take it,” Booker T said.

Wyatt defeated Balor at SummerSlam, but has yet to make an appearance on WWE television since then. WWE did release a limited-edition Firefly Fun House boxset that contained a number of exclusive merchandise that sold out within hours.
