WWE NXT Takeover Toronto II Results Adam Cole Retains His NXT Championship
WWE’s NXT brand returns to Toronto tonight with NXT Takeover: Toronto II!

-The show opens with a video package on the big screen for all of tonight’s matches to the theme of the event performed by Slipknot.
NXT Tag Team Championship Match
Street Profits (c) vs Undisputed Era
Kyle and Angelo start the match off, Angelo showing off his superior strength by dropping Kyle repeatedly before he turns Bobby inside out with a lariat and Ford dropkicks him. The Street Profits take control with frequent tags and chaining offense together until Bobby comes back with strikes and dumps Angelo out of the ring before he and Ford counter each other until Ford dropkicks Kyle. SP hit a banzai drop into a flap jack to Kyle before Angelo drops Kyle with an uppercut and Bobby drops him with an elbow when he gets the blind tag. Kyle rocks and drops Angelo with a variety of strikes before hitting a sliding knee and Bobby hits a slingshot senton for a quick two count. Bobby hits a back suplex and Kyle beats on Angelo in mount before locking in a front face lock and Angelo gets the tag to Ford who takes out both members of UE.
Does sends Kyle out of the ring and hits a spinebuster into a standing moonsault for a two count onto Bobby before they end up outside and Ford hits a PK from the apron into a uranage to Bobby back in the ring for a near fall. Kyle boots Angelo off of the apron before Bobby hits a chop block and UE hit a DDT into a German suplex for a near fall before Kyle sets Ford up top and locks in an Achilles lock before Ford counters a superplex and gets crotched. Bobby hits a diving exploder suplex before Kyle hits a diving knee and Kyle locks in an Achilles lock before Bobby stops him from getting to the ropes. Angelo hits a spinebuster onto Kyle with Bobby to break the hold before Angelo comes in and launches Kyle into Bobby before Angelo hits s suplex and Kyle rocks him with a knee before Kyle locks in a standing guillotine that Angelo counters before SP hit a blockbuster doomsday device for a near fall that Bobby breaks up. All four men brawl until they collapse and Ford sends UE out of the ring before Ford hits a flipping senton and a frog splash once they’re back in the ring for the pin and the win.
Winner: The Street Profits defeat Undisputed Era via pinfall when they Ford pins Kyle with a frog splash to retain their NXT Tag Team Championships.
-We get a video package for the budding rivalry between Io Shirai and Candice LeRae which is up next.
Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae
Candice goes right after Io, but she rolls out of the ring before Candice goes out after her before Io suplexes her onto the announce table. Io rolls back into the ring and plays to the crowd, seemingly content with a count out victory before Candice gets back in at the count of nine. Io beats on Candice in mount and hits a flap jack into a basement dropkick for a quick two count before locking in a rear chin lock. Candice goes for a huricanrrana, but Io lands on her feet before dropkicking Candice. Io hits a running air raid crash for a near fall before Candice counters a butterfly suplex and Io misses a missile dropkick before Candice comes back with a flurry of strikes and a brainbuster for a near fall.
Candice locks in an octopus stretch before Io gets to the ropes for the break and Io hits a drop toe hold into the ropes before Candice counters a 619 into a neckbreaker for a near fall. Io hits a 619 before Candice hits a suicide dive into a tornado DDT before hitting a diving stomp for a near fall. Io takes Candice down and locks in a cross face before hitting a running splash in the ropes and Candice hits a snap German suplex before Io hits a dead lift bridging German suplex for a near fall. Io hits running knees in the corner before Candice hits a reverse huricanrrana and a diving reverse neckbreaker for a near fall. Io hits a Spanish fly for a near fall before Candice gets a near fall off of a small package and Io hits a butterfly backbreaker into a moonsault for yet another near fall.
Io then locks in a Koji Clutch before Io chokes her unconscious for the referee stoppage.
Winner: Io Shirai defeats Candice LeRae via referee stoppage with a Koji clutch.
–Matt Riddle comes out to the ring and demands that Killian Dain fight him before they brawl at ringside and up the ramp until Matt hits several Final Flash knees until he’s dragged away. Matt then takes out the security before Dain hits a running cross body and Matt locks in a choke before Dain drives him against the LED board and they go flying off of the stage and through several tables.
-We see EVOLVE star Austin Theory in the crowd.
NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match
Velveteen Dream (c) vs Pete Dunne vs Roderick Strong
Everyone exchange strikes before Dream clotheslines Strong over the top rope and Dream and Pete take turns beating on Strong until Pete sends Strong out of the ring. Dream mocks Pete and they grapple before Dream counters an xplex and Strong crotches him in the ring post before hitting several back drops and backbreakers at ringside. Strong rolls Pete back into the ring and hits a back suplex for a quick two count before locking in a bow and arrow submission that Pete kicks out of before Strong dropkicks him. Roderick hits a backbreaker for a two count before Dream comes back in and clotheslines Strong before hitting a side Russian leg sweep. Dream hits a diving ax handle off of the top and a sharpshooter that Pete breaks up with a diving stomp and everyone ends up at ringside before Pete hits an Asai moonsault. Pete rolls Strong back into the ring and hits an enzuigiri before Dream runs into Strong and Pete hits Strong with a German suplex before suplexing Dream on top of Strong for a two count. Strong and Dream beat Pete down before all three men exchange strikes until they collapse and Pete stomps both of them hands before they each hit their signature moves, Dream with a DVD, Pete with an xplex and Strong with an Olympic slam before collapsing, respectively. They go for some kind of move and all crash down onto the mat before Pete locks in a triangle choke and Dream hits a coast to coast elbow drop. Strong rocks Pete and Dream with kicks, forearms and suplexes before locking in a double Strong Hold before Pete snaps both the fingers of Strong and Dream before Pete hits the Bitter End for a near fall that Dream breaks up. Pete stomps the face of Dream into the mat and Pete hits an enzuigiri before Dream breaks up a Strong Hold and hits a DVD before Strong hits The End of Heartache for a very close near fall, Dream pinning Pete immediately after for the win.
Winner: Velveteen Dream retains his NXT North American Championship by defeating Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong via pinfall.
-We get a video package for the NXT Women’s Championship Match between the champion Shayna Baszler and the challenger Mia Yim.

Shayna Baszler (c) vs Mia Yim
Mia shows off her unconventional techniques before Shayna goes for an armbar and Mia counters before Mia hits a cannonball in the corner. They end up outside and Mia traps the arm of Shayna into the stairs and kicks the stairs before they’re back in the ring and Shayna comes back with a bicycle knee in the corner and a snapmare into a PK. Shayna stomps the elbow of Mia and drops her with a kick for a quick two count before focusing on the left arm of Mia and locks in a standing armbar. Mia grabs the hair of Shayna before Shayna clotheslines her and Mia gets a two count off of a roll up before Shayna dropkicks her for a two count. Shayna goes for a Kimura, but Mia gets to the ropes for the break before raking the eyes of Shayna and hitting a back drop driver before dropping Shayna with kicks and an overhead release suplex.
Shayna rolls out of the ring before Mia hits a tornado DDT when she gets back into the ring for a near fall before Shayna comes back with strikes and a knee for a near fall. Mia drops Shayna face first into the top turnbuckle and locks in a tarantula before Shayna catches her on the top turnbuckle and goes for a gut wrench suplex before Mia counters her into an avalanche code red for a near fall. Shayna then goes for the Kirafuda clutch before Mia counters and stomps the elbow of Shayna before locking in an armbar, but Shayna reapplies the Kirafuda clutch. Shayna then submits Mia with a reverse triangle choke for the tap and the win.
Winner: Shayna Baszler defeats Mia Yim via submission with a reverse triangle to retain her NXT Women’s Championship.
-We see the NXT UK champion WALTER and his challenger at NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff, Tyler Bate in the crowd.
NXT Championship 2 out of 3 Falls Match
Adam Cole (c) vs Johnny Gargano
Adam and Johnny lock up and exchange wrist locks before Adam puts Johnny in a side headlock and drops him with a shoulder block before they counter each other’s finishers. They tease superkicking each other before they lock up and Johnny backs Adam into the corner for a clean break and Johnny hits a huricanrrana before clotheslining Adam over the top rope. Johnny hits a suicide dive and rolls Adam back into the ring before Johnny sends the knee of Adam into the ring steps and starts targeting it. Johnny locks in a variation of an Indian death lock before Adam gets to the ropes for the break, Johnny going right back to the leg of Adam as soon as he breaks the hold. Adam hits a German suplex into the edge of the apron before Adam hits a neckbreaker and a hangman’s neckbreaker into a head scissors before Johnny reverses into an ankle lock.
Adam kicks Johnny away and Johnny hits an overhead belly to belly into the corner before dropping Adam with clotheslines and a rolling enzuigiri. Adam counters a slingshot spear before Johnny hits a fisherman’s driver for a two count before he goes back to the knee of Adam and locks in a figure four. Adam crawls to the ropes for the break and hits a bridging German suplex for a near fall. They exchange kicks before Johnny counters a Panama sunrise into a reverse powerbomb for a near fall before Johnny sets Adam on the top turnbuckle and Adam hits a code breaker into a Michinoku driver for a near fall. They counter each other until they hit each other with a clothesline and Adam catches Johnny with a kick when he goes for a suicide dive before Johnny hits a slingshot DDT for a near fall.
Adam superkicks Johnny when he goes for a slingshot spear and hits an ushigaroshi for a near fall before Adam rolls out of the ring and grabs a chair before tossing it back into the ring. Adam then low blows Johnny for a near fall when the referee throws the chair out of the ring before Adam sets the chair up in the ring and tosses it out of the ring before arguing with the referee. Johnny then superkicks Adam before he hits him with the chair for the disqualification, Adam winning the first fall, but Johnny wearing the chair out on him.
Adam Cole goes up 1-0 due to Johnny getting disqualified.
Johnny hits Adam with a chair as soon as the street fight starts and hits a suicide dive before Johnny beats on Adam in the NXT universe and smashes his face into the barricade repeatedly. Johnny takes a selfie with a fan and drags Adam back to ringside before superkicking him and setting him in a computer chair before sending him into the barricade and hitting cross body right into the barrier at the time keeper’s area. Johnny clears the announce table and gets on top of it with Adam before Adam rakes his eyes and Johnny sends him through the Spanish announce table. Johnny sets a table up in the ring and plenty of chairs before Adam hits a shining wizard into an ushigaroshi onto a chair for a near fall before wedging a chair into the corner and Johnny throws Adam into it before submitting Adam with the Gargano Escape for the second fall.
Adam and Johnny go to one fall a piece before a steel cage with walls lined with assorted weaponry is lowered down onto the ring as the third fall begins. They brawl before dueling with kendo sticks until they superkick each other and Johnny hits a huricanrrana into a reverse huricanrrana into a superkick for a near fall before Johnny sets up a table. Adam hits Johnny with a chair and a back stabber for a near fall before setting two chairs back to back and going for a superplex onto the chairs that Johnny counters. Johnny sprays Adam with a fire extinguisher and hits a tornado DDT onto the chairs for a near fall before hitting him with a kendo stick and they both fight over a sledge hammer before Johnny hits a powerbomb for a near fall. Johnny grabs the sledge hammer and Adam superkicks him before he throws a ladder at Johnny and hits the Panama Sunrise onto the ladder for a very close near fall.
Adam sets up the ladder and climbs it before hitting another Panama sunrise for yet another near fall before Johnny collapses when Adam teases the last shot. Adam sets a chair up and traps Johnny in it before he misses the last shot and goes right into the chair and Johnny locks in an STF before Adam bites him to get free. Johnny hits Adam with a sledge hammer and sets up a ladder and two tables before lying Adam on the tables and climbing the ladder before Adam rolls off of the tables. Johnny hits Adam with a kendo stick and Johnny hits an avalanche Canadian destroyer for a very close near fall. Johnny finds a bolt cutter and cuts the barbed wire at the top of the cage before Adam climbs onto the top of the cage to avoid Johnny.
Johnny then goes after Adam and they brawl on top of the cage before Adam sends Johnny off of the top of the cage and through a table for the pin, the final fall, and the win.
Winner: Adam Cole retains his NXT Championship by defeating Johnny Gargano when he wins two out of three falls.
