Triple H Says He Gets More Fulfillment Out Of NXT Than He Did His In-Ring Career
Triple H loves seeing NXT talents have their breakout moment[s].
This coming Saturday on the WWE Network, the NXT roster comes together for their annual TakeOver event during SummerSlam weekend with this year’s show emanating from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Adam Cole will defend his NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano, Velveteen Dream is defending the NXT North American Title in a Triple-Threat involving Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne. Io Shirai and Candice LeRae will clash and behind the curtain for the show will be NXT founder and senior producer Triple H.
Triple H, who recently turned 50-years old sat down with the Performance Center’s own Josiah Williams and talked about a variety of topics including the fulfillment he gets from seeing NXT talents have their shining moments. Triple H added that he receives more fulfillment from that than he did his in-ring career.
“Shawn [Michaels] and I talk about this all the time: I think, in some ways [I] get more out of what I’m doing now than I did in my career where it was just about me — now it’s, the ability… For me to sit in gorilla and watch kids realize their dream and their passion and have that light bulb moment or whatever that is or see their success, know how much they poured their heart and soul into it and have that success. To see you [Josiah Williams] go out there and tear it up — knowing how that all came to be. Those are just really cool moments and I think that’s the passion now so to me, 50 is just a number.” He explained.
