Report: Derek Anderson Faces Guilherme Vasconcelos At Bellator 229

A welterweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 229 according to Sherdog as Derek Anderson is going to be in action against Guilherme Vasconcelos

Anderson (15-3-0-1NC) has won three of his last four under the Bellator MMA banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Patricky Pitbull, Saad Awad and Zak Bucia. Anderson has seen his last five professional MMA bouts go the distance and it has been over four years since the fighter got a finish. Anderson has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter, but none of those defeats have come by way of KO/TKO.

Vasconcelos (10-5-0) has won just one of his last three in Bellator MMA competition, with that lone win coming against Ivan Castillo at Bellator 192. Vasconcelos hasn’t picked up a victory in well over a year, as the aforementioned win over Castillo came in January of 2018. Vasconcelos has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of those defeats came by way of decision.

Bellator 229 takes place on Friday, October 4 from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California with Andrey Koreshkov and Lorenz Larkin headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
