WWE NXT Results for 7/31/19 Pete Dunne vs Roderick Strong, Tyler Breeze vs Jaxson Ryker

Tyler Breeze vs Jaxson Ryker
Tyler is reluctant to lock up with Jaxson before he hits him with forearms and stomps in the corner before Jaxson hits a uranage and beats Tyler down in the corner. Jaxson hits a backbreaker and locks in a choke before hitting another backbreaker and Tyler comes back with kicks before countering a chokeslam into a victory roll for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tyler Breeze defeats Jaxson Ryker via pinfall.
-After the match The Forgotten Sons attack Tyler before Fandango comes out and runs them off before the friends and tag team partners share a hug.
-We get a recap of last week’s confrontation between Candice LeRae and Io Shirai before we see Candice outside of the building.
NXT Breakout Tournament Semifinals Match
Bronson Reed vs Cameron Grimes
Bronson shows off his superior strength and backs Grimes into the corner before tossing him away and dropping him when Grimes runs into him for a quick two count. Bronson hits a back elbow and chops Cameron in the corner before grimes sends Bronson into the corner and drops him with a lariat before rocking him with a dropkick. Bronson hits a powerslam and rocks Cameron with an elbow before hitting a running splash and a fall away slam into a running senton for a near fall. Bronson then runs the ropes before Cameron hits a jumping stomp for the pin and the win.
Winner: Cameron Grimes defeats Bronson Reed via pinfall with a jumping stomp to advance to the finals of the tournament.
-Shayna Baszler comes out to the ring to address Mia Yim’s attacks on Jessamyn and Marina the past several weeks before setting up a title match at NXT Takeover: Toronto. Mia then comes out onto the stage and mocks Shayna while making her way down to ringside before she gets in the ring and tells Shayna that she’s going to take her belt before Shayna leaves.
-We go outside to Candice and William Regal before he makes a match between her and Io at Takeover: Toronto.
-The contract signing for the NXT Tag Team Championship match between the champions The Street Profits and the Undisputed Era is announced for next week.
Pete Dunne vs Roderick Strong
They kick the match off by grappling before Pete focuses on the fingers of Strong and goes for a Kimura before Strong falls into the ropes for the break. Strong chops Pete in the corner and stomps on him before they run the ropes until Pete clotheslines Roddy and stomps on his elbow ala Shayna Baszler. Pete hits a PK to the arm of Strong and kicks his legs before Strong comes back and Pete hits an x-plex and a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Strong hits a backbreaker into a flap jack for a near fall before Pete comes back with an enzuigiri and Strong hits an Olympic slam. Pete hits a snap DDT and beats Strong down with strikes before Strong catches him on the top turnbuckle before Pete hits a sunset flip off of the top, but botches it. Strong then hits a bicycle knee into a Tiger driver before locking in the Strong Hold, Pete countering into a triangle choke before he snaps the fingers of Strong and forces him to tap for the win.
Winner: Pete Dunne defeats Roderick Strong via submission.
-After the match Dream goes to hit Pete with the belt before he dances and Pete snaps his fingers before hitting the Bitter End as we go off the air.
