Report: UFC San Antonio Main Card Brings In Just Under 1 Million Viewers
This past weekend, MMA fans were treated to one big event in the form of UFC Fight Night San Antonio, which was headlined by Leon Edwards scoring a decision win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos.
The show, which aired live on ESPN, brought in an average of 957,000 viewers according to MMA Fighting. Other bouts on the main card saw Walt Harris defeat Aleksei Oleinik, Greg Hardy defeat Juan Adams, Dan Hooker defeat James Vick, Alexander Hernandez defeat Francisco Trinaldo and Andrei Arlovski defeat Ben Rothwell.
A seven fight preliminary card also aired live on ESPN and that brought in an average of 548,000 viewers. Those seven preliminary card bouts saw Alex Caceres defeat Steven Peterson, Raquel Pennington defeat Irene Aldana, Klidson Abreu defeat Sam Alvey, Jennifer Maia defeat Roxanne Modafferi, Ray Borg defeat Gabriel Silva, Mario Bautista defeat Jin Soo Son and Felipe Corales defeat Domingo Pilarte.
Competition was at a minimum for free TV viewers last Saturday, with a PBC Boxing preliminary card airing on Fox featuring Caleb Plant defeating Mike Lee and an MLB game on Fox Sports 1.
Up next for the UFC is UFC 240, which will feature a four fight preliminary card airing live on ESPN.
