Broadway Boxing On UFC Fight Pass 7/17/19 Results: Hanna Gabriels Retains World Title
Lou DiBella’s Broadway Boxing hit international waters this week with a special card in Costa Rica that was streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
In the lone world title fight that took part of the broadcast, Hanna Gabriels won a close, competitive fight against Abril Vidal to retain the WBA junior middleweight title. Gabriels won the fight by unanimous decision with scores of 96-94, 97-93 and 97-93. Not only was this Gabriels’ first fight in her home country of Costa Rica since 2017 and it was her first title defense since winning the belt back in January.
Perhaps the most eye-popping fight of the night was O’Shaquie Foster’s incredible knockout win over Jesus Bravo to win a regional WBA title. Late in the eighth round, Foster won with a vicious right hand that immediately dropped Bravo and ended the fight.
In other undercard action, Trey Lippe Morrison, son of former WBO heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison, improved his pro record to 16-0 with a win over Pedro Martinez. Trey became more aggressive as the fight got into the later rounds and stopped Martinez in the sixth round.
