Rhyno’s WWE Contract Is Up This Week
Rhyno is a free agent on midnight, July 18
The former ECW and NWA World Champion is leaving WWE after another three-year run with the company that saw him form a successful tag team with Heath Slater. WWE had offered him double his downside guarantee, which he rejected.
Rhyno confirmed the news with Chris Van Vliet months ago.
“July 17th is my last date there. They actually offered me more than twice my downside but it wasn’t where they would have to use me because the downside is so large and it wasn’t about money it was about me wanting to be on the road work and helping the younger guys kind of like a player coach,” said Rhyno.
A masked man heavily implied to be Rhyno appeared at Impact Slammiversary recently and hit a Gore on Michael Elgin. Even though Rhyno was still under WWE contract, Ryan Satin spoke to a source who stated WWE wouldn’t make an effort to take action.
Spoke to a source in WWE who confirmed Rhyno’s WWE contract expires on July 17, but they said the company is unlikely to make an issue out of his masked appearance at Slammiversary over the weekend.
