Aspen Ladd Has “No Hard Feelings” After Controversial Loss In Sacramento

Aspen Ladd headlined UFC Fight Night Sacramento, suffering a sixteen second knockout loss to Germaine De Randamie.

While many have viewed referee Herb Dean’s stoppage of the bout as too early, one thing Ladd says is that she has no hard feelings towards the official for how things went down.

“I lost the fight,” Ladd told MMA Junkie. “I was still aware, so I wish he hadn’t stopped the fight, but there’s nothing I can do about it now. Referees have a tough job. They have to make split-second decisions. This one did not go my way so I wish it hadn’t occurred, but I really can’t tell you what he saw. I haven’t spoke to him after. No hard feelings.”

The loss for Ladd was the first of her professional MMA career, with the fighter’s record now sitting at 8-1-0.

Ladd took the opportunity to battle De Randamie around two months after her last bout at UFC Fight Night Rochester and Ladd expects to take a break before competing again.

“There really hasn’t been a break this year,” Ladd said. “I’ll take it a little bit easy. Maybe do a little bit of traveling, but as soon as I get the call for the next one, we’ll be back.”

A defeated Ladd was also on the wrong side of UFC history on Saturday Night, as her loss was tied for the fastest finish in UFC Women’s Bantamweight Division history.
