Goldberg Talks WWE Deal Negotiations, Says He Hasn’t Been Training Wrestling
Goldberg is a proven ratings success for the WWE, popping a big(ger) number for his long-awaited return. However, he's going into Survivor Series as if it's the last match of his career.
On a recent episode of Heated Conversations With Booker T, Goldberg said that he's open to the idea, but he's completely fine with ending his career in Toronto.
"I'm treating it as that," Goldberg said, when asked if it was a one-off. "That's what they offered. That's what I accepted. If they wanted more, they would have offered more. I took the offer when it came to a mutual decision, which I believe was mutually positive for everybody involved. I treat it as such. I have a one-match contract and I'm taking it like the last match of my career. The minute after the match is over, I won't bask in it. I'll think about what's next. If it's anything else in the wrestling world, I'll consider that. If not, it's not like I've been looking for something to do the last 12 years."
As we saw on Monday's episode of Raw, Goldberg admittedly had his share of ring rust. The former WCW Champion fell to the ground while trying to knee Rusev. Goldberg also told Booker T that he hasn't prepared inside a ring….for his return to the ring.
"I haven't been in the ring yet. That's the one thing after those 12 years that is probably the most important to reacquaint yourself with, but I'm going in for one match. I'm not going to get into the ring for 20 days straight to re-acclimate myself to hitting the ropes because, hopefully, the only thing that will be hitting is my fist hitting Brock's face and him hitting the mat, so the reality is — I'm going to be taken to Suplex City. I'm going to take some suplexes in this thing. It is what it is. It ain't like I didn't play in the NFL, dude. I may be old, but I know what I'm getting myself into," said Goldberg.
Survivor Series takes place November 20 from the Air Canada Centre in Torono, Canada, with Goldberg and Brock Lesnar headlining.
