Adam Cole: We Have A Ton Of Creative Liberties In NXT
Adam Cole on the creative freedom in NXT.
The current king of NXT is none other than Adam Cole, the brash leader of top faction Undisputed ERA. Cole won the title from Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: XXV in another classic bout between the two.
When it comes to NXT and the main roster, the differences in quality is noticeable as there has yet to be a TakeOver event that has “missed” while a show like WWE Super ShowDown, billed as being greater than or equal to WrestleMania, was a flop according to many fans.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Adam Cole revealed that there are more creative freedoms in NXT.
“One of the coolest things about NXT is we have a ton of creative liberties to come up with the story and the vision we have for the match,” revealed Cole. “Of course, there’s input and advice given and there’s suggestions or, you know ‘we need something this way’ but generally speaking, myself and Gargano, we come up with that match [two-out-of-three falls]. We decide ‘hey, let’s do this’ and then if we’re stumped on a little area then someone will chime in and come up with another way to take another cool dip or make the match or the story more exciting. We do have a lot of freedom, which is great.”
One knock on WWE has been the micromanagement and reported restrictions put on talent. Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose in WWE) recently vented his frustrations in an interview with Chris Jericho. You can view his comments here.
