Fighter Pulled From UFC Fight Night 98 For Potential USADA Violation

Guido Cannetti was set to make his third appearance in the UFC at UFC Fight Night 98, but he was notified by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) about a potential violation and subsequently pulled from the event.

Cannetti took to Instagram to vehemently deny any wrongdoing in conjunction with USADA violation:

The UFC has also issued a statement on the situation:

“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency has informed Guido Cannetti of a potential anti-doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on Oct. 5, 2016,” a statement read. “USADA has provisionally suspended Cannetti based on the potential anti-doping violation.”

Cannetti was set to face Marco Beltran on the preliminary card of the event, and has been replaced by Joe Soto.

UFC Fight Night 98 is taking place on Saturday, November 5 from the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico with Tony Ferguson and Rafael Dos Anjos headlining.
