NJPW Announces Return Of Super J-Cup Tournament; Tourney Will Be Held In The U.S., Cities Confirmed
The Super J-Cup is back!
New Japan Pro Wrestling’s post-Dominion press conference occurred on June 10th and to kick off the presser, former 11-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Jushin Thunder Liger was introduced and he announced that the Super J-Cup tournament which he created is returning this Summer. Liger stated that the tournament will be based in the United States and will feature talents from New Japan, CMLL, Ring Of Honor and other promotions that will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
The tournament kicks off on August 22nd at the Temple Theater in Tacoma, Washington and the next tournament date is the 24th of August at the SFSU Student Life Event Center in San Francisco, California and the finals will take place at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California.

The Super J-Cup was last in effect in 2016 and the finals consisted of KUSHIDA defeating Yoshinobu Kanemaru. On August 24th, one individual will join Chris Benoit, Jushin Thunder Liger, Naomichi Marufuji and KUSHIDA as a winner of the Super J-Cup tournament.
