Taiji Ishimori Out Of Action With A Right Shoulder Injury

“Bone Soldier” will miss the June 3rd show

The finalist from the B block of the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament will be decided on June 3rd in Okayama, Japan. Ryusuke Taguchi and Will Ospreay are leading the B block in points and are tied at twelve. Coming in second place in the A block is former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori and NJPW has announced that Ishimori will not be in action on June 3rd as he has suffered a right shoulder injury. Ishimori suffered the injury during his match against Shingo Takagi on May 31st. He will be undergoing further evaluation and here’s the full press release concerning Ishimori being out of action:

During his May 31 match with Shingo Takagi, Taiji Ishimori suffered an injury to his right shoulder.

As a result, Ishimori will miss the Okayama event on Monday June 3, with the following change being made to Monday’s card:

1st Match

Tiger Mask, Jonathan Gresham & SHO vs Taiji Ishimori, Jado & Gedo

Tiger Mask & Yuya Uemura vs SHO & Jonathan Gresham

Ishimori will undergo further evaluation, and we will provide updates on his condition if they become available.

The updated lineup for NJPW’s June 3rd show is available to view on NJPW1972.com and on the final day of the Best Of the Super Juniors tournament, along with the tournament final, Hiroshi Tanahashi will make his return to in-ring competition against Jay White and Jon Moxley will take on Juice Robinson for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship.
