Liam Williams, Sunny Edwards, Archie Sharp Added To Dubois vs. Gorman Undercard
A number of British contenders have been added for the July 13 O2 Arena boxing card.
The most notable of the names that have been announced was two-division British titleholder Liam Williams, facing an opponent that will be announced at a later date. Also announced for the card are Sunny Edwards and Archie Sharp.
Williams has won his last four fights after two consecutive loss to Liam Smith in 2017. The 26-year-old Williams is the current BBBofC British middleweight champion, having won the title in December 2018 when he stopped previously-unbeaten fighter Mark Heffron. Williams, who is ranked No. 8 by the WBO at 160 pounds, is coming off a second-round knockout win against Joe Mullender on March 8.
Edwards, the brother of WBC flyweight champion Charlie Edwards, is the current WBO European super flyweight champion. Winner of all 11 of his pro bouts, Edwards has also held the WBO International title and last fought on April 27 when he stopped Pedro Matos in the eighth round.
Sharp is a rising super featherweight who won the WBO European title last October when he won a 10-round decision against Leon Woodstock. Since then, Sharp fought on that same April 27 card that Edwards competed in and stopped Sergio Gonzalez in the second round of their bout.
The card will be headlined by the BBBofC heavyweight title fight between Daniel Dubois and Nathan Gorman. Also on the card is rising heavyweight contender Joe Joyce in action against an opponent yet to be announced.
