Rocky Fielding, Martin Murray To Return On July 12 MTK Global Card

British fighters Rocky Fielding and Martin Murray are looking to bounce back from their respective losses back in December.

Both Fielding and Murray will compete on separate fights on the July 12 MTK Global card from Liverpool, England. The two fights will be streamed on ESPN+ in the United States and serve as undercard fights for the main event, which is an IBF European featherweight title bout between Nathaniel May and Jazza Dickens.

Fielding will be returning to action for the first time since losing his WBA “Regular” super middleweight title to Canelo Alvarez at Madison Square Garden on DAZN. That fight was Fielding’s first title defense since winning the belt when he defeated Tyron Zeuge in July 2018. This will also be Fielding’s first fight in the United Kingdom since an eight-round decision win against Karel Horejsek in March 2018. Fielding is currently ranked No. 8 by the WBC and No. 9 by the WBA at super middleweight.

Murray had a roller coaster 2018 that included missing out on a shot at Billy Joe Saunders’ WBO middleweight title. The fight had to be postponed multiple times until it was ultimately scrapped entirely. Murray’s first fight last year was a win against Roberto Garcia to capture the WBC Silver middleweight title in June. Afterwards, Murray lost a majority decision against Hassan N’Dam on December 22.
