Juan Francisco Estrada Lists Opponents He Wants To Face: “Ancajas, Sor Rungvisai, Gonzalez”

Newly-crowned WBC super flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada already has some ideas as to who he would like to face next.

Estrada was recently awarded the WBC title in a special ceremony and spoke about what his future holds with ESPN Deportes. Estrada said his goal is to unify titles with another super flyweight world champion and added that he would love a shot at IBF champion Jerwin Ancajas.

Aside from a unification fight against Ancajas, Estrada added that he would entertain a rematch against Roman Gonzalez and a trilogy fight against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. Although he didn’t specify when he would do this, Estrada said he could potentially move up in weight to bantamweight.

“I would like to unify with any champion, but I want Jerwin Ancajas, the Filipino IBF champion. That’s the fight I want to have, but if there’s any other champion [who wants to unify], why not? The fight with Roman Gonzalez is one a lot of people ask for and Rungvisai, the trilogy, as well. Why not [a trilogy]? Whatever my team says, we’re going to plan it out before moving up in weight to bantamweight,” Estrada said in Spanish.

Estrada won the WBC title on April 26 with a unanimous decision win over Sor Rungvisai in the main event of a Matchroom Boxing USA card that was streamed on DAZN. Estrada and Gonzalez last fought all the way back in 2012 with a light flyweight world title on the line. Gonzalez would go on to win that fight by unanimous decision and retain the WBA title.
