WBC Rankings Update May 2019: New No. 1 Fighter In Super Flyweight Rankings


The World Boxing Council (WBC) has unveiled its latest rankings across the sport’s 17 weight classes.

Days after the IBF released its rankings for the month the WBC followed suit as well and like the IBF, the WBC’s rankings reflected big changes in the middleweight division in the aftermath that was Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs. The super flyweight division also saw plenty of fighters exit and enter the WBC’s top 15 after a busy month of fights and world title announcements.

Heavyweight:

– Sergey Kuzmin (formerly No. 15) drops out of the rankings

– Joe Joyce enters the rankings at No. 15

Cruiserweight:

– No major changes

Light Heavyweight:

– No major changes

Super Middleweight:

– John Ryder (formerly No. 10) drops out of the rankings

– Ronald Gavril enters the rankings at No. 15

Middleweight:

– Hassan N’Dam (formerly No. 3) drops out of the rankings

– Ryota Murata (formerly No. 4) drops out of the rankings

– Yamaguchi Falcao (formerly No. 8) drops out of the rankings

– Gabriel Rosado (formerly No. 13) drops out of the rankings

– Daniel Jacobs enters the rankings at No. 2
