Jazza Dickens vs. Nathaniel May Headed To ESPN+ On July 12
ESPN+ has added another boxing card from the United Kingdom to its summer schedule.
The July 12 MTK Global-promoted show, taking place in Liverpool, England, will be streamed on the broadcast platform in the United States. The card will be headlined by Jazza Dickens vs. Nathaniel May for the IBF European featherweight title.
Dickens was once a rising super bantamweight contender, capturing the BBBofC British and English titles within his first 20 pro fights. Dickens unsuccessfully challenged for the WBA “Super” title at 122 pounds against Guillermo Rigondeaux in 2016, but was stopped after two rounds, suffering a broken jaw during the fight. After losing his next fight against Thomas Patrick Ward, Dickens moved up to featherweight and has won his last four fights, all of which by knockout.
May has won a number of regional featherweight titles throughout his career, winning the WBO Asia Pacific, IBF Pan Pacific, WBA Oceania titles among others. May lost his fifth pro bout, but since then has won his last 16 fights. May only fought once in 2018, an eight-round decision against Ruslan Berchuk back in October.
The fight is just the latest to be added to the ESPN+ boxing schedule in the coming weeks. ESPN+ already has two boxing cards from the United Kingdom scheduled to be broadcast with the May 17 card being headlined by the return of former bantamweight world champion Ryan Burnett moving up to super bantamweight. No other fights for the July 12 show has been announced yet.
