Report: Aaron Pico Joins Jackson-Winklejohn, While Cynthia Calvillo Leaves Team Alpha Male

Some of MMA’s biggest prospects have made changes to their training camps as Aaron Pico has joined Jackson-Winklejohn, while Cynthia Calvillo has left Team Alpha Male.

ESPN broke the news of Pico changing camps, while Brandon Gibson of Jackson-Winklejohn also posted the following on Twitter:

Pico had previously trained at the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) and Team Bodyshop before moving to Jackson-Winklejohn, plus Pico has worked with The Treigning Lab as well. There has been no comment from Pico about the move to the new training camp, but Sherdog also reports that he is expected to compete this June at Bellator 222.

Calvillo, in an interview on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (via Natalie Zamudo of Sherdog), states that a huge factor in leaving Team Alpha Male had to do with Justin Buchholz no longer being there.

“There’s just been a lot of changes since I first went in there,” Calvillo said. “I tried to stick it out but it just wasn’t working for me anymore. Of course, the big of it has to do with my head coach Justin Buchholz who is no longer coaching there.”

No word has been given at this time as to when Calvillo is expected to return to action.
