Carlos Negron vs. Daniel Martz To Headline Undercard Fights Of May 25 PBC Card
PBC has added several fights that will be televised on its upcoming May 25 card from Biloxi, Mississippi.
The company announced that three fights will be televised on FS2 and serve as the lead-in to the main card that will be shown live on FS1. In the main event of the FS2 prelim card will be a heavyweight fight between Carlos Negron and Daniel Martz.
Negron, who competed in the 2008 Olympics, fought for the first time in 18 months last December when he was knocked out by Dominic Breazeale on a PBC on Fox card from Brooklyn. Negron previously held the WBC Continental Americas and FECARBOX heavyweight titles and has won seven of his last eight fights.
Martz has faced a number of reputable names throughout his career, including Luis Ortiz, Bryant Jennings and Joseph Parker. Martz has won his last two fights with both of those wins coming in the first or second round.
Also announced for the card is welterweight prospect Amon Rashidi against an opponent to be named at a later date. Rashidi has won all six of his fights since making his pro debut in 2015 and is coming off a sixth-round TKO win over Gabriel Gutierrez back on March 16.
The other fight on the card ius a cruiserweight bout between Efe Apochi and Earl Newman. Apochi, an unbeaten prospect from Nigeria, has knocked out all seven of his opponents and is coming off a second-round win over 51-fight veteran Raymond Ochieng. Newman failed to pick up a win in his last two fights, last emerging from a fight as a winner since 2016. Newman, who sports a 10-1-1 record, has not fought since 2017 when he lost a 10-round decision to Lionell Thompson.
The FS1 main card will be will be headlined by a junior middleweight matchup between former world champion Austin Trout and Terrell Gausha. Also announced for the FS1 card is Chordale Booker vs. Wale Omotoso in a 10-round fight and a light heavyweight bout between Ahmed Elbiali vs. Marlos Simoes.
