Report: UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale Prelims Bring In Over 700,000+ Viewers

This past weekend, MMA fans were treated to UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale, which saw Jack Hermansson defeating Ronaldo Souza by unanimous decision in the main event.

While the main card streamed live on ESPN+, a total of seven preliminary card fights aired live on ESPN 2 and then ESPN.

A report from MMA Fighting is stating that the ESPN portion of the preliminary card brought in an average of 720,000 viewers. The four fights that composed that portion of the preliminary card saw Takashi Sato defeat Ben Saunders, Carla Esparza defeat Virna Jandiroba, Augusto Sakai defeat Andrei Arlovski and Gilbert Burns defeat Mike Davis.

Three fights would air on ESPN 2 as a part of the same preliminary card and that brought in an average of 288,000 viewers. The three fights on that portion of the preliminary card saw Jim Miller defeat Jason Gonzalez, Angela Hill defeat Jodie Esquibel and Dhiego Lima defeat Court McGee.

Competition was at a premium for the UFC this past Saturday Night, as both NBA and NHL Playoff games aired opposite the MMA event.

Up next for the UFC is UFC Fight Night Ottawa, which features Donald Cerrone facing Al Iaquinta in the main event, and that whole event streams live on ESPN+.
