WWE Smackdown! Live Results for 4/30/19 Ali & Bálor vs Andrade & Orton, Becky Lynch vs Bayley
WWE champion Kofi Kingston responds to the betrayal of Kevin Owens last week and Becky Lynch and Bayley square off tonight at 8pm EST on USA Network!
Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage of tonight’s edition of WWE Smackdown! Live featuring a never before seen match between the double champion Becky Lynch and the perennial underdog Bayley!
-Michael Cole introduces the WWE champion Kofi Kingston who comes out by himself sans New Day and talks about his career and about fighting through the tough times. Kofi says that he’s glad he stuck it out because he became the champion and talks about how New Day proves that the impossible is possible. We get a video package for the WWE Championship match where Kofi defeated Daniel Bryan before we get one from Kevin Owens‘ betrayal of New Day last week. Kofi then says that he is more than happy to face Kevin for the belt at Money in the Bank next month before Kevin comes out and says that Kofi isn’t championship material and that he thinks Kofi believes it as well before Xavier attacks him from behind; Kevin taking him out and running to the back before Kofi can get to him as we go to commercial.
Becky hip tosses Bayley and puts her in a side headlock before Becky knocks her over and tosses her out of the ring. Bayley then snaps Becky’s neck into the ropes as we go to commercial.
We return to Bayley in control, focusing on the knee of Becky which she’s had problems with over the past month before hitting a running knee for a two count. Becky comes back with an enzuigiri and a missile dropkick for a two count before hitting an exploder suplex and a running forearm in the corner. They clothesline each other before Bayley gets a near fall off of an inside cradle and hits a fall away slam into an elbow drop. Becky then locks in the Disarmer for the tap and the win out of nowhere.
Winner: Becky Lynch defeats Bayley via submission with the Disarmer.
-Charlotte attacks Becky and Bayley after the match before leaving, then we get a promo by Aleister Black who is in total darkness and wearing black so it gives the appearance that he’s a floating head without a body as we go to commercial.
-The Smackdown! Live Tag Team champions The Hardy Boyz come out to the ring and discuss the state of the titles with Jeff now injured. Jeff informs the WWE Universe that he’s going to need surgery that requires an extensive recovery and that they’re going to have to relinquish the belts. Lars Sullivan then comes out to the ring and attacks the Hardyz and R-Truth when he tries to save Jeff as we go to commercial.
Asuka & Kairi Sane vs Local Talent
Kairi starts the match off with the tall woman who challenges her to a test of strength, but Kairi is too short, so she shortens her with kicks and brings her down to size before she and Asuka double team each of them and Kairi hits the Insane Elbow in a matter of minutes for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kairi Sane and Asuka defeat two local performers via pinfall when Kairi pins one of them with the Insane Elbow.
–Roman Reigns comes out to the ring as we get a video recapping what has been going on between himself, Elias and Shane McMahon the past few weeks. Roman talks about knocking out the Chairman, saying that it wasn’t planned, it could have been anyone, but he had to show that this is his show and his yard before he’s interrupted by Shane McMahon. Shane comes out onto the stage and says that everyone knows that he is the best in the world, but even though it may be his yard, the McMahon family owns the land. Roman says that Vince owns the land and that he knocked him off of his feet before saying that Roman was left face down last week. Roman says that Elias helped him and asks Shane if he can do it on his own, but Shane says that he’s leaving to go to Michigan for his match against The Miz at Money in the Bank. Shane then introduces The B Team to take on Roman in a two on one handicap match before making Elias the special guest enforcer.
Roman Reigns vs The B Team w/Special Guest Enforcer Elias
Roman kicks the match off with Bo, Roman in control until Bo tags in Curtis who DDTs Roman and stomps him in the corner, the two isolating Roman in their half of the ring even though he has no one to tag in, just trying to keep him close where they can frequently tag in and chain together offense. Elias then distracts the referee before Bo clotheslines him from the apron and Curtis sends him out of the ring before Elias clotheslines him at ringside as we go to commercial.
Roman comes back and takes out both members of the B Team as we return to the action, Roman hitting a Samoan drop DDT for a near fall before he hits a superman punch to Bo on the apron and Curtis in the ring for a near fall, Elias pulling the referee out of the ring at the last second before Curtis hits a Perfect Plex for a very close near fall off of a fast count by Elias. Elias then grabs his guitar and Roman superman punches him out of the ring before hitting a spear to Curtis for the pin and the win.
Winner: Roman Reigns defeats The B Team via pinfall when he pins Curtis with a spear.
