Johny Hendricks To Retire With Loss At UFC 207
Johny Hendricks is a former UFC Welterweight Champion and was the last person (as of now) to fight the currently retired/free agent in Georges St. Pierre, but he could be done in the sport.
As Hendricks is preparing to step into the octagon at UFC 207 against Neil Magny, he may very well be stepping into the octagon for the final time, especially if he drops the fight to opponent Neil Magny.
Hendricks recently appeared on the Five Rounds Podcast, where he talked about the decision to retire if he does loss at UFC 207 to Magny.
“The last two I have lost, fair and square, I know I have,” Hendricks said. “Realistically, if I go out there — and hey, crazier things have happened — I go out there and lose, that’s when it’s time to say ‘I’m done.’ I’m not gonna keep fighting to hopefully find a person I can beat.”
Hendricks two losses in a row came to Stephen Thomspon — who is challenging for the welterweight title against Tyron Woodley at UFC 205 — Kelvin Gastelum, a past winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter.
UFC 207 will be taking place on Friday, December 30th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey in the main event.
