WBSS: Prograis vs. Relikh/Donaire vs. Young Weigh-In Results

All four fighters on tomorrow’s World Boxing Super Series card have successfully made weight.

In the main event of the WBSS card from the Cajundome in Louisiana, top-seeded boxer Regis Prograis will get his crack at a true world title when he faces off against WBA champion Kiryl Relikh. The winner of the fight gets to advance to the WBSS 140-pound tournament finals against the winner of the Ivan Baranchyk vs. Josh Taylor matchup taking place next month.

Not only does the winner of the 140-pound tournament walk away with the World Boxing Super Series trophy, but they will also be the unified WBA and IBF champion. Prograis spoke with Fightful to talk about the matchup and you can read that article at this link.

As for the other tournament fight, Nonito Donaire will defend his WBA “Super” bantamweight title against Stephon Young. The fight was made at the last second after WBO champion Zolani Tete suffered a shoulder injury that prevented him from competing against Donaire. With the injury, Tete and his WBO title will no longer be a part of the tournament. The winner of Donaire vs. Young will advance to the finals as the WBA “Super” champion and face the winner of the IBF title fight between Emmanuel Rodriguez and Naoya Inoue.

Below are the weigh-in results for the two World Boxing Super Series tournament fights taking place on April 27:

World Boxing Super Series junior welterweight tournament semifinals/WBA world title (140-pound limit)
