Showtime To Stream Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale Undercard Fights

Showtime will have a busy night of boxing as the network announced it will stream three additional fights for next month’s event from the Barclays Center.

On the undercard of Deontay Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title defense against Dominic Breazeale on May 18, Showtime will stream a number of fights featuring rising prospects on the Showtime Sports YouTube channel and the Showtime Boxing Facebook page.

The first is a cruiserweight fight between unbeaten prospect Deon Nicholson and twice-beaten boxer Brian Howard. Nicholson, a native from Alabama, had a busy past few months, winning the WBC USNBC title late last year and continuing his knockout streak, which stands at 11 fights. Howard bounced back from a June 2018 loss to Umar Salamov by knocking out Garrett Wilson back in February to improve his record to 14-2.

The second fight announced is a heavyweight matchup between Robert Alfonso and Iago Kiladze. Alfonso has won all 18 of his pro bouts and is coming off a win over Ray Austin back in February. Kiladze, once a promising heavyweight prospect, has struggled in the ring when it comes to getting wins over notable opponents. Kiladze has been knocked out in each of his last three fights against Adam Kownacki, Joe Joyce and Michael Hunter.

Lastly, welterweight prospect Richardson Hitchins will also fight on the undercard against an opponent to be named at a later date. Hitchins has mostly fought at the Barclays Center and is coming into the fight with an 8-0 pro record.

The Showtime-televised main card will not only feature Wilder vs. Breazeale, but also a WBC featherweight title bout between Gary Russell Jr. and Kiko Martinez.
