Report: Julia Budd Signs A New Deal With Bellator MMA

Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Champion Julia Budd is expected to defend the gold next against Olga Rubin at Bellator 224 this July.

Win or lose on that night, it looks like Budd is staying with the promotion for the long haul because a report from MMA Junkie is stating that the champion has signed a new long term deal with the promotion.

While the report states that Budd signed a new deal with Bellator MMA, such information as the length of the contract and any financial numbers associated with the deal weren’t revealed.

Budd (12-2-0) has already won six bouts under the Bellator MMA banner and is in the midst of a ten fight winning streak. Budd captured the Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Title by defeating Marloes Coenen at Bellator 174 and has already defended the gold twice. Budd has suffered just two defeated as a professional MMA fighter, with those losses coming to the duo of Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey.

Bellator 224 takes place on Friday, July 12 from the Winstar World Resort & Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma with Julia Budd and Olga Rubin headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
