Devon Alexander To Face Ivan Redkach In PBC On FS1 Main Event On June 1
Former world champion Devon Alexander will take on Ivan Redkach in the main event of a PBC card in June.
The 12-round welterweight fight headlines a PBC on FS1 card taking place at the Soboba Casino Resort in San Jacinto, California on June 1.
Alexander, who has won titles at 140 and 147 pounds, is on the comeback trail after going winless in his last two fights and has a 1-3-1 record in his last five bouts. Alexander has not fought since losing a split decision to Andre Berto back in August 2018.
Redkach is a former USBA lightweight titleholder who has fought the likes of Tevin Farmer, Argenis Mendez and John Molina Jr. The 33-year-old Redkach is a on two-fight win streak and is coming to the fight with a 22-4-1 record.
In the co-main event, Hugo Centeno Jr. and Willie Monroe Jr. will face off in a middleweight bout. Centeno is coming off a technical decision win back in February against Oscar Cortes in his first fight since being knocked out by Jermall Charlo in an interim WBC title bout in April 2018. Monroe will be getting his first fight since losing out on a fight against Charlo last December due to Monroe failing a drug test weeks before the fight.
The televised opener is a heavyweight bout between Onoriode Ehwarieme and Rodney Hernandez. Ehwarieme, a native from Nigeria, has won all 17 of his pro bouts with 16 of those wins coming by knockout or stoppage. Hernandez has faced a number of notable heavyweight contenders, including Michael Hunter, Adam Kownacki and Zhilei Zheng, and has won his last two fights.
