Report: Devin Clark vs. Ivan Shtyrkov Off UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg
Today’s UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg event has apparently taken a hit because a bout between Devin Clark and Ivan Shtykrov has been pulled from the card.
Clark revealed the news himself through a video on Instagram, claiming that Shtykrov has been hospitalized.
Here is a transcript of what Clark said, provided by MMA Junkie:
“Hey, everyone. I just wanted to thank you all for your love and support, but unfortunately my fight here in Russia has been canceled. My opponent, he got sick. He’s in the hospital now. So unfortunately no fight tomorrow. Thank you so much, everybody, for the love and support. It means a lot, and hopefully I’ll get rescheduled soon and onto the next one.”
There has been no comment at this time from Shtykrov or the UFC on the canned fight.
UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg takes place today from the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia with Alistair Overeem and Aleksei Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
