Jarrell Miller Tested Positive For Second Banned Substance; Eddie Hearn Confirms

Days after it was revealed that Jarrell Miller failed a drug test back in March, the heavyweight contender has reportedly tested positive for a second substance in a separate test.

According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Miller tested positive for Human Growth Hormone (HBH). The positive HGH test result came in a sample collected on a different date than the March 20 sample that resulted in a positive test for the banned substance GW1516.

Miller has already been denied a license to box unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on June 1 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The fight was going headline a boxing card from Madison Square Garden that will be streamed on DAZN. Miller has since denied knowingly taking any banned substances and that he was shocked seeing the positive test result come up in a lengthy statement released on social media.

Matchroom Boxing Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed the news on social media, but did not specify the second substance Miller tested positive for. The British promoter added that an announcement will be made regarding the fight next week.

Hearn is actively looking for an opponent to salvage the event, which is also set to have a fight between Katie Taylor and Delfine Persoon to crown an undisputed women’s lightweight champion.
