Report: Junior Albini Faces Maurice Greene At UFC Fight Night Minneapolis
A heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Minneapolis according to Farah Hannoun as Junior Albini is going to be in action against Maurice Greene.
Albini (14-5-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the trio of Andrei Arlovski, Aleksei Oleinik and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Albini hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with that last victory coming against Timothy Johnson at UFC On Fox 25. Albini has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of submission.
Greene (7-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, dropping bouts to the duo of Jeff Hughes and Michel Batista. Greene has previously challenged for the Legacy Fighting Alliance Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion and the aforementioned Hughes at LFA 38. Greene has suffered just two defeats as a professional MMA fighter and both of them came by way of decision.
UFC Fight Night Minneapolis takes place on Saturday, June 29 from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
