Tito Ortiz Returning To Action Later This Year

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz last competed at Golden Boy MMA: Liddell vs. Ortiz III, defeating Chuck Liddell by first round knockout.

The fighter is looking at stepping back into the cage and plans to do so around October of this year.

“I’ll probably be fighting in October,” Ortiz told TMZ Sports (via MMA Junkie). “After I fought Chuck last year I thought it would probably be my last one, but my body is intact, everything is fast, everything is great. Sparring’s been good, training’s been great, and so let’s do one more for fun.”

Ortiz is currently in the midst of a two fight winning streak, but has only competed twice in the last three-plus years.

Although Ortiz doesn’t have an opponent announced at this time, one thing he is predicting is that the foe is going to be a fun one.

“Just for fun,” Ortiz said. “I have an opponent, and it’s going to be fun when we announce it, so it’s going to be cool.”

There is no word yet as to which promotion the Ortiz fight could happen under, as his last few bouts took place at Golden Boy MMA and Bellator MMA.
