Junior Dos Santos Says Brock Lesnar Isn’t A Real Fighter
UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier and former UFC Heavyweight Brock Lesnar are expected to clash later this year.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos claims that Lesnar isn’t even a real fight, which is why he picks DC to win the potential encounter.
“I don’t think (Lesnar can defeat Cormier),” Dos Santos told MMA Junkie. “For me, he’s not a real fighter. He’s an actor, a performer. I don’t know. But, of course, a fight is a fight. He’s a huge guy; he has a lot of power. But his chances to beat Cormier will be very, very little. Cormier will do the same gameplan, to take him down, make him tired and finish the fight. As he did with Derrick Lewis last time.”
Cormier and Lesnar did have a brief physical confrontation at UFC 226, but nothing has come out of it since.
Dos Santos does understand why people would be interested in seeing Lesnar compete, since the former UFC Heavyweight Champion brings in big money with his fights.
“But, of course, like you said, it’s a money fight. I don’t know why, but people like to see Brock Lesnar fighting. Because he talks a lot, because he’s huge, because he’s an entertaining guy. We have to understand that. We have to respect that,” says Dos Santos.
JDS is expected to fight Francis Ngannou later this year at UFC 239, with the winner potentially putting themselves in line for a shot at the heavyweight gold.
