Ryan Garcia Trades Social Media Barbs With Gervonta Davis After Callout
Ryan Garcia’s latest callout after his most recent win caught the attention of one Gervonta Davis, leading to a big back-and-forth on social media.
Garcia had an easy night on March 30, taking out Jose Lopez after two rounds in the main event of a Golden Boy Promotions card that was streamed on DAZN. After the fight, Garcia called out Mayweather Promotions, saying he is not afraid of fighting anyone from the undefeated future Hall of Famer’s promotional company.
“I also want to say something to the Mayweather camp that keeps running their mouth. Don’t worry, you get your fights up, and I will whoop your ass anywhere, let’s do it. I ain’t intimidated by Mayweather, nobody can intimidate me,” Garcia said.
Davis, the current WBA super featherweight champion, did not take too kindly to Garcia’s comments which may have been partly directed at him. Davis and Garcia had the following exchange on Twitter with the two sides hinting at a fight, although at this point it is extremely unlikely to happen anytime soon.

The exchange continues a long-running feud between the two that is an extension of an even longer rivalry between Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya and Davis’ promoter Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather and De La Hoya fought each other as pros in 2007 in what was one of the most commercially successful boxing fights in history with Mayweather coming out on top in a fight that sold roughly 2.7 million pay-per-view units.
Now their feud continues as promoters and recently, Golden Boy Promotions sent a cease-and-desist letter to Mayweather in regards to Mayweather offering fights to Garcia.
