Charles Barkley takes a stand for professional wrestling.
11-time NBA All-Star Charles Barkley is currently co-hosting the NCAA March Madness tournament halftime show on CBS alongside Greg Gumbel, Clark Kellogg, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Wally Szczerbiak joined the show as well. Before the show returned to the air, a commercial aired featuring former WWE Universal Champion Goldberg which led to crew talking about professional wrestling.
Wally began to share the experiences that he’s had with the likes of Goldberg and Hulk Hogan. Barkley added that he loves Goldberg and after some banter between the hosts, Greg Gumbel sarcastically stated that he believes wrestling is real and that earned a response from Charles Barkley who stated that he is going to grave believing that wrestling is real and here’s how that exchange unfolded.
Charles Barkley: “Goldberg was the man. Yeah I love me some Goldberg”.
Greg Gumbel: “I’m one of those who think that wrestling is real.” He said sarcastically.
Charles Barkley: “Hey Greg, if you say something crazy like that again; wrestling is real. I’m gonna come across this desk on you. No, no. It’s real. I’m going to my grave believing that.”
Charles Barkley was backstage at Ric Flair‘s 70th birthday celebration in Atlanta which was the episode of RAW that Batista made his return to set up his No Holds Barred match with Triple H at WrestleMania 35.
