Beneil Dariush Says He Doesn’t Need To Trash Talk Other Fighters
Beneil Dariush last saw Octagon time at UFC Fight Night Wichita, defeating Drew Dober by second round submission.
If there is something that Dariush wants to avoid when fighting, it would be the trash talking aspect of things.
“When it comes to competition, when it comes to fighting, I’m as savage as you’re gonna get,” Dariush said after the event (via Milan Ordonez of Bloody Elbow). “I’m OK with hitting you, I’m OK with getting hit, I’m OK with cuts, broken leg, broken nose – I’ve broken my nose five, six times – but I don’t need to verbally assault somebody. I don’t need to say anything bad about somebody.”
Dariush isn’t known for his trash talking skills, but has scored ten finises in sixteen professional MMA victories.
The fighter also doesn’t think that it’s worth selling yourself out in order to trash talk.
“If you feel the necessity to do that – maybe you’re hoping to hype up the fight, hoping for more money – whatever it is,” he said. “If you think it’s worth selling yourself out, go for it. But I’m not selling myself out so I can make a little more money. I’m not selling my character out for that.”
It is unknown at this time as to when Dariush is returning to action, but don’t expect much trash talking when that next bout takes place.
