Marko Stunt Says He Would Love To Be A Part Of All Elite Wrestling

Marko Stunt is healing up and is awaiting clearance to return to the ring.

Marko Stunt jumped to the front of independent wrestling scene when he appeared at Joey Janela’s ‘Lost In New York’ show in August of 2018. Stunt was then announced for the ‘Over The Budget’ Battle Royal at The Young Bucks and Cody’s ‘ALL IN’ event in-which he had a number of one-on-one moments with various wrestlers who were in the match. Marko Stunt recalled how he got that opportunity during an interview with Sportskeeda and discussed his journey from ‘Lost In New York’ to performing in front of 10,000 plus inside the ‘Sears Centre’.

“Man, so I was on vacation with my family. We were all hanging out in the hotel room, and I got this random message from a guy named Brett Lauderdale. He introduced himself and told me who he was and what he did. For those of you who don’t know, GCW is his baby. He wanted to know my availability for a show – Live Fast, Die Young – and I immediately agreed. It was a day later or so when he asked me about Lost In New York. I thought he was messing with me honestly, but he told me what they wanted to do. I was skeptical about it at first, because how is me coming out of the crowd going to work? But I ended up working on that show, and Cody saw me do a move that I thought was just a different move, but he really liked it. I woke up the next morning with a text from him asking me to be involved with the Over Budget Battle Royal. That’s where that all came about.” He recounted.

Marko Stunt credited WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray as a major reason why he got to shine as much as he did in the ‘Over The Budget’ Battle Royal. Following up on The Young Bucks and Cody’s success of ALL IN was the announcement of their All Elite Wrestling promotion and Stunt said that he would love to be a part of the start-up company.

“AEW is groundbreaking.” Marko said. “I think it’s opening up a lot of opportunities, not only to the wrestlers getting signed, but to the workers on the indies who haven’t made that come up yet. There are so many spots opening up right now, that people have gotta capitalize on it while it’s hot. But over all, with AEW, I think they’re going to do great, and I think, already, what they’ve done is historic.” He continued, “Obviously, I would love to be a part of it. I’m enjoying seeing all of my friends that are getting announced. I can’t say much on me joining them, as of right now, but hopefully, in the future we can work together.”

Stunt is recovering from a broken leg that he suffered at Joey Janela’s ‘L.A. Confidential’ show last November. He spoke about the incident and said that it was one of the weirdest feelings but right now, he is recovering smoothly and is on the road to getting back into the squared circle.

“Breaking my leg was the weirdest feeling ever. It’s kind of like, if you watch a skateboarder break his leg, and it just kind of flops around loosely – that’s what it was like. It was the worst pain I’ve ever felt for sure. Right now though, it’s doing great. I’m back in the gym, and I just had my final doctor’s appointment today. Now I can focus on strength and balance, and start to get in the ring again.” He said.
