Report: Jeff Jarrett Joining WWE Creative Team

Another big change made to WWE’s creative team.

PWInsider reports that Jeff Jarrett has been added to the WWE creative team. Jarrett’s position is reportedly a full-time executive level role in the company. Jarrett was hired in January to be a producer for WWE. He has also appeared on television since coming back, including competing in the Royal Rumble.

Jarrett was reportedly involved in last week’s WWE Production meetings and spent several days last week at WWE HQ prior to being added to the team.

Jarrett was on the outs with WWE for two decades after leaving for WCW in 1999 and demanding royalty pay up front. Vince McMahon publicly fired him during the final episode of WCW Nitro. He would go on to start NWA:TNA Wrestling (IMPACT Wrestling) where he appeared on-screen and worked behind the scenes. After splitting from IMPACT, he launched Global Force Wrestling in 2015 but it quickly dissolved as Jarrett failed to land a television distribution deal. He briefly returned to IMPACT before reconciling with WWE. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

WWE adding Jarrett to the creative team is just the latest shake-up backstage. On Feb. 23 PWInsider reported Bruce Prichard had been rehired to join the creative team full-time. On Feb. 24, popular internet writer Dave Schilling announced he would be joining the creative team. Earlier this month, Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Dana Warrior had joined the writing team, but had not been offered a full-time role.
