Ricochet Says He Assumes He’ll Be On Both RAW And SmackDown Until After WrestleMania
“The One And Only” does not know what the future holds but he is enjoying the ride.
Former NXT North American Champion Ricochet has been with WWE coming up on a full year and he has competed on several TakeOver shows and he recently made his Monday Night RAW and SmackDown debuts. Ricochet debuted on RAW and teamed with the current Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor to defeat Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush. On SmackDown he picked up a win over Eric Young. This upcoming Tuesday, Ricochet will team up with Aleister Black to take on Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura and everything is moving fast for “The One And Only” but he was able to soak it all in when he returned home to Paducah, Kentucky and was graciously welcomed home by his hometown faithful.
WPSD Local 6 caught up with Ricochet at a surprise party that his family and friends threw for him. Ricochet reflected on his RAW and SmackDown debuts and stated that there were nerves because there is only one chance to make a first impression.
“There was definitely nerves, especially the first time because NXT, as big as it is, it’s massive, RAW and SmackDown is much bigger just — it’s just much bigger whether it’s personally or views, RAW and SmackDown is much bigger and I just wanted to make a good impression because everyone’s there. You only get one debut really so you want to make the best impression you can and that’s what was really going through my mind because the actual… the physical aspect of it — again, I’ve just being doing it so long, that kind of comes natural so I just wanted to make the best impression I can.” He explained. “I wanted to show everybody I can do this. It doesn’t matter — size, whatever. I can do this. I knew I could do this. I could succeed at it. This [the party] is more than I could’ve asked for.”
Ricochet was then asked what is next for him going forward. He said that he assumes he’ll be on both RAW and SmackDown until after WrestleMania but as of right now, he is an official member of RAW and/or SmackDown.
“I will be on RAW and SmackDown going forward. At least until after Mania. After Mania, it’s gonna be one or the other. I’m assuming, I don’t know. But that’s what I’m assuming. But yes, going forward, I am now an official member of RAW and/or SmackDown.” Ricochet laughed.
On top of his duties on the main roster brands, Ricochet is still a member of NXT and he was present at the recent NXT TV tapings at Full Sail and to read the spoilers from those tapings, click here.
